Hey Everyone,
My wife and I recently purchased a GoPro and decided to take a weekend trip with some friends to Anza-Borrego to try it out. I did the editing using Powerdirector, and being as this was my first attempt at any kind of video editing, I still have a lot to learn. My overall goal is to have videos that we can show our friends and family to share our experiences and hopefully get them excited to take some trips of their own. I know i have a ways to go before NatGeo offers me a job, but its a start. If you guys have any tips or advice on recording or editing, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Frank, great first video. Loved the action sequence and fast forward on the extremely slow stuff. I really liked your front bumper view the best. Thank you for sharing the adventure.

Thanks for the feedback, I look forward to experimenting with more angles/views on future trips.

Nice loop on the music. The glare wasn't bad looking at the sun. Not sure if they make filters for go pro's. The last bit looking at the sun, you can see the dust build up on the lens. Very good for a first time. Now I want to go back to Anza. Been a while since I was there.

the camera angle showing the reflection in the door was pretty cool. we all have very short attention spans now so trying to keep a video fast paced and exciting is difficult, but you did a good job keeping it moving and no boring scenes. i wouldn't have guessed it was your first vid
Thanks for the positive feedback, I think in future videos I’ll play around with the length and see if making them a little shorter or longer makes them more interesting to watch

I’m definitely going to look into some filters, I know they have some ND filters for the GoPro but beyond that I’m not sure. As far as dust on the lens, it seems like common sense now, but at the time it didn’t even occur to me that I should get out and clean it off periodically. Definitely something I’ll have to remember in the future, thank you. And one of the goals is to make people wanna get out and take trips... so I guess mission accomplished :)

I loved the reflection on the door and the slow-mo at the beginning. Good first video!
