Resolved File size limit for Images

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Hi,

can I suggest an upload file limit for images?
Problem is that on a mobile connection having one build thread with 50mb of images (5 images) limits the possibility to check OB forums while on the go a bit.
Maybe also the platform can resize images?

Just a suggestion. Maybe that way more people engage via the apps.

There are options out there for resizing images client-side on upload. My company uses Plupload to do this in as part of custom photo product application. Definitely worthwhile in terms of bandwidth savings and site performance improvement.

All - an update here.

We are evaluating various image file size limitations including auto-resize and compress options. We need to be sure they operate well with the site. This is near term.

A bit longer term, we are working on "offline mode" which will not download the "media rich" content.
