From April, I'm not sure if it technically counts as overland but by the definition given I drove all the way up there and even went off-road (and got stuck a few times haha) so I guess it's ok to share these:

Here's a drone video additionally:

Very difficult to drive beyond 5mph / 8km/h in technically what is a "sports sedan" as no ground clearance and tires were not aired down so very bumpy on road tires and stiffened sports suspension

The views over at Alladale are breathtaking though and the first time in a long time where I got to experience such an environment

Beautiful photos, thank you for posting these. You are correct, you are driving a non-traditional overland vehicle, but you drive what you have.

Yeah..... we have to make do with what we have however, here you will see me driving a LandRover Defender 110:

a little more traditional - traditional if you like at least for the UK ;-)

It was even in 4 High mode!!

It's like I wrote in my introduction, I am currently really keen on the Gen6. 4Runner and would love to import one. I don't know if it is possible as there may be quite a few laws or regulations locally that it doesn't comply with.

We'll see..... I gota find something that suites my needs better and I actually like the look of too inside and out; as if you can't live with your vehicle then it's no good

I would wager that you did not get stuck in the LR.

I'm not a gambling man sadly as I know I'd loose this one haha.....

I think it might have been the same rig that pulled me out the previous day.

It was all stock as far as I could see apart from all-weather tires (I believe) and upgraded stereo

In fact in the video you should also be able to see our guide "Ryan" drive us through a river too which was my first time ever and so much fun!!

Would love to visit Scotland in my own car someday, but that'll never happen sadly
What's the reason if you don't mind me asking?

I guess if one isn't based in Europe it becomes too expensive and difficult, or if there are health issues things can become really hard

I'm from/in Norway so it's a 1700 mile one way trip from my home through 7 other countries just to get to Scotland, not to mention the fact that driving on the other side of the road in a LHD car scares me

Ah I see... yes it isn't close but lots of people from here do actually drive to norway

Yes I agree driving on the other side of the road even scares me though I have been forced to do it for many years since getting a UK license.
Very different to Turkey and way too many rules too. When gettimg my license out there it was acceptable to do so many things including passing red lights if the road was empty

I think there is a ferry though from Denmark that you can take to the North of England somewhere? Then Scotland is only a short drive away ;-)

There's no ferry from Denmark to the northern part of England anymore, just one between Germany and Norway and 3 between Denmark and Norway
