F350 CCSB

Well, I have been busy with everybody else I haven't had much time for myself. So far, I have the water coffin installed, the passenger side tool box/diesel heater box set, and today, I worked on the battery box install. All went well. All wiring is finished and improved so I can claim a Version 2 of my build! This week I will install the diesel heater and the batteries. Then the center slide drawers cabinet will be next! I really cant wait till it is finished so I can take a weekend ride and have some ME time.

Reinstalled the diesel heater tonight. Tomorrow I will seal the bottom exhaust area and fire it up for a test!

Well I got busy and did not seal the heater. I did install the 3 batteries and tested the Auxbeam controller and lights in the dark! I might have over done it….
Now I have to find an intermittent short in the new side lights. Right after the pic, they turned off and won’t come back on.

I finally finished the diesel heater setup! I like the way I connected the exhaust/fresh air lines better than the initial install! I also removed the tailgate seal as it did not make it 1 year. At the $50 price point, you would think it would last more than 1 season. So I am trying a generic 1/8" x 6" wide rubber seal. We will see. Cheaper isn't always better but I can buy 3 of these rolls for the price of the product specific junk. Anyways, I'm liking it!

Looks great

I am in the process of doing something similar. Is there a reason you did not run the wires that go up into the bed, through the stake pocket hollow, instead of up through the bed floor? I am thinking of using the stake pocket tower to get my wiring in to minimize holes in the bottom of the bed.

Shawn

Thanks! Unfortunately my 2014 doesn’t have stake pockets. Most importantly, Im never getting rid of this truck so the holes don’t bother me. Actually the only holes in the floor are for the diesel heater exhaust/fresh air pipes. and a 1/2” water tank low point drain. I did need to pop 2 holes in the rear part of the top rail due to a design flaw in the trailing edge of the 2 wheel well boxes. The battery box (drivers side)and diesel heater/tool box (passenger) that covers the wheel wells. Instead of rebuilding the boxes, in goes the holes! They are covered by the cap rails and I use grommets to protect the wires! Small price to pay I guess!
My lessons learned are an incredible tale of trial and error and lots of money!! Even with the best laid out plan, I changed a few things that I wished I thought of in the first version!

Best of luck with your build and dont forget to create a page so we can follow your progress! Oh, if you want a small form factor UV light for your water supply, dont buy guzzleH20’s expensive setup. I found that the manufacturer sells it online at Lowes! Shocked me too!

Need to clarify something I said. My 2014 has stake pockets, just hidden under the plastic trim. Doh!

I checked in on my rig today. It still has an IV attached. Most parts are in, waiting on others… New turbo, exhaust rails, Pusher hot/cold intake system with air box, CCV delete with the internal catch can.
