Durability of 12v Refrigerators

I am planning to build a dual slider system for the bed of my truck and a refrigerator will reside on one of the slides. I do not have a bed cover such as a topper or tonneau cover but a rack and rooftop tent will be installed prior to the slider system. How durable are these refrigerators when exposed to the elements for long periods of time. I ask because I live in Florida which is a highly corrosive environment due to the salt air and sun and I don’t want to spend a lot of money to have a refrigerator break down in a short time due to this. Thanks for any input!

not sure about Florida itself. But I do know @DometicOffroad fridges are made to be in the elements 24/7 and not have issues.

Should be fine. My Dometic CFX35 would live in an open bed while camping/hunting for a while and was fine. Now resides under a truck cap, but still in sweltering heat and dust that kicks up through the crack in the tailgate.

Edit: Buying an inexpensive protective cover may be helpful.

Engel fridges, those will still be alive when you are dust, one you buy them you can mention them in your will :)
Expensive new though and impossible to find used.

I used a Webasto Yacht fridge that has the compressor detached so you can put it in the wheel well. Yachts -> salt. Real estate is an issue and most fridges are bulky and take too much space. You can take a look on the thread that I wrote on the rig builds.
