I wanted to add a 48" Hi Lift to the Jeep inventory and opted for an internal rollbar mount from Dominion Offroad.
Here is the mount: http://www.dominionoffroad.com/jeep_jk_hi-lift_mount/index.html
The mount is rock solid with pins that slide into the rollbar and a securing hole that uses an existing factory bolt so the install was easy. Since I do not have a "Hi-Lift" (rather just a generic farm jack) and since the screws on the mount are fixed and non-adjustable, I had to drill additional holes into my jack base for the install. Still . . .no problem . . . Moreover, if you still wish to zip up the cover, you'll have to cut a slit in your rollbar cover to allow the mount to pass through.
And a photo of the right side with wingnut closure:
With the jack in place as a solid platform, I added a Teraflex "tombstone" to the jack's spine. The tombstone is beefy bar stock more than capable of handing a 2 gallon Rotopax.

With the extension in place, I bolted on a Rotopax DLX mount for a 2 gallon water container primarily to benefit our 3 dogs. My goal was to utilize the dead airspace in the cargo area for the jack and water . . . and as a bonus, the whole platform created a shelf of sorts to wedge extra clothing or recovery gear above the jack/2 gallon jug. Visibility out the back is still great.
The Go Westy spout provides nice, easy access to the Rotopax for quickly filling the dogs' water bowl. Spout is here: http://www.gowesty.com/product/fuel-water-storage/24473/spout-kit-for-rotopax-water-container No leak, no drip but I did add a small nylon bag to keep the dogs from licking/chewing the spout. Plus if we ever cook or boil water on the tailgate, we have a ready source of water.
I also picked up a headrest mounted bag from Brett at Dominion Offroad http://www.jeepswag.com/shop/shop/storage/demon-duffelz-headrest-back-packs/ . . . and use it to store an easy access med kit. Plus it has a wicked embroidered logo.
Overall the entire set up has performed flawlessly with zero issues and zero slop/rattle with the main point being that the DOR base mount made the whole thing possible.
