and how does it effect your sleep habits while overlanding?

Personally, I have to have a fan or some way of making "white noise" to divert my brain away from the ringing. When dry camping my only source is ear buds, but then my brain focuses on the unusual feeling of that. A good dose of alcohol helps sometimes.

What is your remedy ?

I have tinnitus and use a fan or light music on a timer to help when it's quiet outdoors. I have heard that there are a few white noise apps that are for tinnitus but I haven't tried them. Alcohol is hit or miss for me, sometimes it makes it worse lol.

I don't have it, but my wife and I bought a white noise machine off amazon, just cause we need that noise to stay asleep.

A cheap Walmart made in China fan that sounds like a C130 taking off at full power and a loose propeller....and sleeping pills. That and hearing aids during the day. I can tell you that alcohol actually amplifies it if you don't get to sleep right away. Good luck dude.

It's a good idea to get it checked out. I started really hearing it early this year and blamed it on Pioneer, Alpine and hair bands. Then, I started getting sick a lot. It turns out, I have really serious ear infections. I put it off so long there's some damage and I still haven't shaken the infection. I'm having an MRI and possibly surgery. Like I say, couldn't hurt to get it checked out.

Got f'd up in the sandbox bad, ended up with tinnitus but also lost over 50% of my hearing. Good for you Warren get yourself fixed up dude. Hearing aids aren't the same as the real thing. All the best to you.
