I don't think there'll be much in this thread as my cruiser is built enough for my needs, might get a few extra tweaks as modding never ends.

Currently the cruiser is 3.5 years old and has 160,000kms+ on the odo, powered by the 4.6L V8, de-catted as the cats got blocked from some bad fuel and I've installed an auto-locker "lokka" in the rear differential.

External mods: I've swapped to steel wheels, tunning 33" tires now, have a TJM T3 steel bumper and winch with IPF spotties on the bumper. ARB roofrack with x3 led bars up front (still need side + rear camping lights) also need to get a replacement awning. In the rear had a spare tire carrier fabbed up and have some diy drawers in the trunk.

Cruiser with my offroad trailer (no room to carry dogs and camping/bbq gear at the same time)

The drawers

And my cruiser

It's amazing how fast this forum has progressed, I remember when it was just starting out.

Thanks Michael for taking the time and energy to start all of this, can't wait for the patches to be back up on the store.
Finally got my emblem put on... Way, way overdue.

Great looking LC, and lovely terrain in the photos. What are your plans for it next?
Thanks, other than replacing the old man eme shocks to konis, only thing planned so far is either replacing the gear box oil cooler or adding an aux fan to the stock cooler to help cool things down during the summer and installing an air tank and on board air compressor to cut down time when re-inflating the tires.

Beautiful rig! Pretty sure we will move over to a 200 series when we out-grow the 4Runner. This is inspiring ;)
Thanks @jordanbrooks & @stringtwelve, that's one awesome 45 in your dp, my 200 is a gcc/middle east spec with the 4.6L 1UR and minimum electronics. Over on the mud forum so far the US spec high milers have only suffered from starter failures and water pumps but other than that no major problems. Haha I'm currently dreaming of trading it for a double cab 79 series with the 1HZ but can't bring myself to parting with it just yet.

For a long time the Desert Nomad became a City Nomad, finally have had some time to go out exploring and enjoying nature. The Land Cruiser is parked up now going to get it back to stock and sell it.

Got a 2016 Patrol Safari, sure is fun having a manual again.

Before summer and 50'c heat hits us I decided to take a little trip through the wadi's (dry river beds) and mountains.

The short trip stretched out to 3+ hours as some of the tracks were badly damaged from heavy rain the past month.

Lots of plants popped up after the recent rain and some areas had some small pools of water, the weather and landscape was simply beautiful a nice change from the desert.

One of the areas where the track was washed out a bit, other areas were worse than this, ruts and loose rocks make for an interesting climb on a steep hill.

1.5 hours were spent crossing large distance where the tracks were maintained, the others lead away from the odd farms in the mountains towards a gas line rarely used as there was a new service road that runs parallel to pipeline. The other tracks took much longer due to their condition and were mainly steep climbs and decent that took you up and around the mountains. Also I accidently closed the tab on my phone for Google maps and there was no cell coverage in most the areas here so when I opened it up again it wouldn't load the maps up, so at a couple of T-junctions had to really step out and take time deciding where to turn.

Hi DN,

What lead to your decision to sell the LC and replace it with a Patrol? Both are very solid rigs.

Keep the pics of the northern Emirates coming, love them.

The LC completed 5 years and 200,000+Kms and I felt it was time for a change. I can't fault the cruiser it was super reliable and the only issues I had were it would constantly rip the cv boots and the cats got completely blocked when we had fuel quality issues with the fuel provider.

I really wanted a manual transmission and something ultra basic and fun for the desert, as great as the cruiser was, it was a whale in the dunes, it weighed in at 2.7 tons and self recovery when I would head out alone was a chore.

Had some more desert fun last week, next week going to get a winch mount fabricated to sit behind the stock bumper and a tube bar to mount a pair of Hella xenon lights I picked up a few days ago.

Picked up the Warn Tabor 10k, winch hook, wireless remote, synthetic winch line and a pair of Hella xenon lights. The fabricator is going to start work on the mount on Saturday then test fit before it gets welded up and sent to powdercoating.
