Here is my kitchen/storage combination for my 2017 Wrangler. The paint is Behr Deckover which has a non-slip texture. All handles were ordered from Amazon. Drawer faces are Red Oak with a coat of polyurethane. 4 24" pieces of L-track and L-track hold downs for additional storage with a net. Did you fabricate your hi lift mount? Dominion has one that nicely tucks the lift up on top at the roll bar. Yours appears to sit differently.

Gonna start building something similar in a few weeks. Im going to make it shorter and as weather prrof as possible (including a cover) so it can go in the back of my truck. What are some dos and donts? Any advice?

It's a roll cage mount from quadratic that is supposed to mount near the bottom of the roll cage

Behr makes a product called deceiver which has texture in the paint. I love it
