Pretty crazy, I agree.

I fixed it on the 10th and haven't had an issue since. In that time I've made a 930 mile trip to Auburn, New York and around the local area with family. Everything has held up!

I never got back to you about those parts! I am sorry about that, Dave.

I had similar issue and eventually just replaced both of my rear light assemblies. Boom. No more popped fuse. Guessing a ground issue in rear light thingy that runs inside the actual plastic housing. Mostly just adding this for those other poor fools who will find your thread and go through the same diagnostics. This is one possible solution. Regards.
