to any other chevy colorado diesel owners out there. If you have been offroading alot you should go check your return fuel line now. Mine started spraying diesel all over the highway and the bottom and side of my truck on Thursday. It looked like some tiny rocks got in between the return line and the metal a/c part and rubbed a hole in the line. I should get some -6 AN hose and fittings today with 3/8 gm push fittings to fix the problem will post the fix pics when done.

I'll tell ya if there was someone out there who was really good at doing brake lines and had the tools to make 5/16 & 3/8 push connect fittings on the lines you could probably make some coin creating solid fuel lines for the Duramax colorados and canyons. Its so dumb that gm decided to do a soft/hard line mix the soft line just adds a point of failure, and there is no flex in the motor mounts at least not enough to require the mixed lines up front. I'm changing to -6 AN nylon braided hose only because thats the only option aside from the stock lines which I also ordered yesterday as a spare. At least with the all soft line I can re route it were it won't rub or get stuff caught in between things. The stock line sits directly on around 4 hoses and at least 2 hard metal parts hence its probably a good idea for others to check theirs and zip tie some rubber or something in between the contact points.

Also you won't even realize this has happened on the return line unless you are stopping frequently and smell diesel or someone yells at you, the truck didn't run any different and no codes are thrown . I smelled the fuel but I dismissed it thinking I spilled some 2stroke gas in the bed then I got home and the whole underneath and driver side was wet covered in fuel, I turned my key to acc and could see diesel just pouring out of my skid plate.

For anyone looking for the parts to do this the summit racing part#s are.
ICB-AB809-02B. female 3/8 push connect to -6 an male
Rus-640940. Male 3/8 push connect to -6an male
Dwk-6-02-0864-3. -6 an nylon braided hose
Sum-220690b. -6an hose end to -6an female thread

These will work to replace any section of used line on these trucks

Nah mate you’ve got it all wrong -- you just didn’t realize you had the “automatic rustproofer” optioned at the factory. Periodically it’ll spray oil all over the underside and engine bay to prevent corrosion. It’s not a failure it’s a feature.

;)

Jokes aside sorry this happened to you - any surprise mechanical issue is unpleasant. Thanks for sharing so others can be aware.

Thanks for the heads up. Just got back from 1 week off-roading in Mendocino National forest. Will definitely check my diesel lines.

Its all fixed now, didn't get any pics i got way too hot after fed ex finally delivered at 4pm and I didn't have the right size removal tool so had to make my own from the tip of a oil funnel. Its all done so all good now, everyone else keep a eye on That area, it is the only line I could follow that touched stuff
