This is an entertaining intro to the Decked drawer system for mid-sized trucks.

Two guys I work with have them in their full size work trucks. Both bought them at Northern Tool with a discount coupon (Northern is always running discounts). They both "SAY" their final price was under $1k (but they both "SAY" a lot of things). I will vouch that the boxes/drawers are well built and stand up to a bunch of abuse.

How are they for someone without a topper? Water tight?

I was really tempted to get one of these, and still like the idea. By the end of this year we will be living full-time in an Airstream, so my truck will essentially become my garage. For now, I've settled on a bed box, though.

I have these in my Tacoma without a topper. I've never had water get into the drawers or the ammo cans. I've run in rain, snow, and car washes, and have never had any sign of water infiltration.

I did 3 days on the White Rim Trail last month and got a little bit of dust in them, but nothing serious.

The drawers are tough, they roll VERY easily and latch firmly open and closed.

I recommend these if you're looking to be able to carry tools, recovery gear, (I have my camp kitchen in one drawer) and other stuff while not having boxes rattle around your bed. The other thing I like is that I can use all my bed space because the system covers the wheel well humps. A sheet of plywood or drywall lays flat.

I've even slept on them - corner to corner is almost 7 feet of flat space.

I'm very happy with them and with the way the company has treated me.
