Custom vehicle springs?

Working on a '42 WIllys and a former owner installed aftermarket springs on it. Sadly they ride like a rock. No suspension at all. Does anyone know where one can get a set of springs manufactured for a vehicle? Since it's already modified, it would be nice to have a more modern functional suspension.
