Basically CORE guy ripped Prinsu design exactly except in chrome checkerplate and tried to pass it off as their new roof rack.. did not go well.

I understand that this hobby we all enjoy of 4wheelin' and overlanding can be expensive, but I cannot fathom the idea of paying $1,500+ for a roof rack. That motivated me to make a rack for my 100 series...
The goal was to make a rack to hold my awning, gas cans, and hilift. Here's what I cam up with with:
Some stats: It is 1"x 1" square tubing @.072 thick. The rack weighs right at 50 lbs, and total cost of all materials was around $200...

2 Harbor Freight Hitch carriers. one 8ft section of square tube, one 8ft section of angle iron.
Little bit of welding, made some gutter mounts.
Quick and easy, holds my RTT just fine ontop of my LR.
I needed something quickly, and I don't have the cash to spend on a real rack currently.

This is my rack I got made for about $500, everything was custom fabricated and designed by me and the guy, we bolted it all down to the bed rails with 6 bolts and she doesn't budge a bit

Is this restriced to Toyotas only?
Cuz I was asking else where about the clamp on style. I got gutters on my 78 and I was wanting to clam beccasue I don't have to worry about leaks or dealing with my two piece roof.
If I could add the clps to a coutom made one then that works.
