Hi all
Question is what size of the chainsaw to buy 12 inch or 10 inch ? I know bigger better but more space and weight .
Makitta vs Ryobi? 199 dollars Makitta vs Ryobi 169 dollars in home depot .

I live east cost around the Appalachian mountains

I've got a 10 inch black and decker 20v. Not a speed demon but has cut everything I've wanted to cut with it. I'm selling it with my other B&D 20V tools to consolidate on Bauer 20V stuff.

I invested in a few 24V tools early on and then bought a 10" 24V chainsaw of the same brand. In a saw only, no battery it was dirt cheap. Now I see 40V and even 80V battery tools. This has lowered the price of 24V batteries, I just picked up a 6Ahr 24V for $40.
I use the saw for firewood mostly, even the 2ahr battery last a long time.

What makes the most sense is to pick a line of tools and stick with it. Having redundant batteries and chargers is pretty great. If you already have Makitta or Ryobi tools with batteries and chargers, than that chainsaw would make sense. I have an EGo lawn mower, so I would pick that one. I wouldn't start counting seconds of run time unless I was a legit lumber jack and needed maximum performance.
