Here is my current build, a 2016 Mitsubishi MQ Triton.
I sold my old 2013 Triton and bought this one off my brother who moved to Canada.
So far it's been an awesome rig and taken me where i've wanted to go.
The Idea behind this rig is to be better and more convenient for camping trips and to be legal, (doesn't take much to be illegal in QLD).
The first thing mod was replacing the tin can bash plates that come from factory to some 3mm Stainless Steel ones.
- Replaced the stock coil overs in the front and left the rear with stock suspension,
- Got a sweet deal on a rhino rack, so bought the Backbone system to suite,
- Added a 40" low profile light bar and put my old awning on from my old ute,
Found some cheap rims, that were in pretty good condition, only issue is the oxidization marks, which is unfortunately under the clear coat. But for the price I got them I'm not phased. I will get some steel rims later on down the track when it finally bugs me or I want to change the look.
I got a custom made snorkel made up for the ute which connects to the factory air box and finally a second auxiliary batter in the tray, which powers the fridge, camp lights, air compressor, phones etc.
