Colorado in July

Going to Colorado from July 7th-14th. Has anybody been through the middle region of Colorado between Telluride/Ouray/Lake city/Gunnison area? How has the snow been in the higher elevation? I just started this overland experience last year. Family of 4. Thank you for any help and advice. Traveling from Dallas Tx to Colorado!
