Long time lurker and finally introducing myself! I drive a 2002 dodge dakota fairly stock other than a small lift and tires. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from this forum for what i want to build and a good idea of things i want in my truck so thanks! Hopefully i can do my best and share what im doing in a build thread to maybe inspire another person to start their projects and go adventure!

@davidaus Welcome to OB1! That's a fine looking Dakota. I've some experience with the Dakota platform, having owned a 2003 Durango for a few years; they're a very solid platform, although the front end of the frame tends to get gnarled up fairly easily, it seems.

If I might ask, how high is it lifted, and how big are those tires? They look somewhere between 31"-33", roughly.

Lift is about 2" in the front and no lift in the rear. Tires in those pictures were actually 35's but really didnt fit as i had to clearance the fenders and cab to fit them and they still rubbed. Ive since downsized to 31's and getting some gas mileage and articulation back has been nice. The thing about the dakota/durango platform i quickly figured out is the lack of aftermarket support which is kinda disappointing but it really hasnt let me down in stock form so i guess thats okay.

@davidaus Oh, nice! I'm lifting mine 2" as well; 31's are probably as big as I'll go, don't want to regear another truck so I'm stuck with 3.23's. RIP.

True, about aftermarket support for these. Shame, kind of.
