Carson Ghost Town, CO

I am planning trip this summer , July, to CO along Alpine Loop. I would like to take side trip to Carson Ghost town. I was hoping to camp close to the ghost town. are there any dispersed camping sites? Camping allowed? Any other suggested camp sites on Engineer Pass or Cinnamon Pass portion of loop.
