You may already know this but just in case - Access to Cape Lookout from Harkers Island is via passenger ferry only. If you're planning to take a vehicle over to South Core Banks or North Core Banks (Portsmouth Island), you'll need to use one of the authorized ferry services. Two run out of Davis and serve South Core and Morris Marina in Atllantic will get you to Portsmouth Island. Reservations are strongly suggested for any of the three vehicle ferries. Have fun.
