Camping Suggestions Eastern NM / West TX

Looking to make a trip along I 10 in a few weeks and would like to camp somewhere near Las Cruces NM, then another night somewhere near Carlsbad Caverns. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Take the highway from Alamogordo to Carlsbad. Alamo is about an hour or so from Cruces. You'll climb quickly out of the valley and be in the mountains quickly. Once you get up into Cloudcroft, there is some great camping. I'd suggest going there. As you get closer to Carlsbad, it gets more "Texas-like," not that that is a bad thing, but I am a mountain guy.

Unfortunately, yes. There will likely be snow. Although this winter has been pretty mild, my guess is that the Sacramento Mountains did see some accumulation.

Guadalupe Mountains National Park is right on the TX/NM border, about 40 miles east of El Paso/Cruces

Can't vouch personally for the campsites there, but they are reviewed well.
