Camp lighting

There are a few different types out now, I have 4. 2 change colour and 2 do not.
Well how bout that. I was kinda thinking you put that "sock" on there and that was how they changed color lol. But that's good to know they came out with those.
As far as camp lights for me, I'm using the Luci Lights and I'm thinking about an LED strip on my hatch. Just not sure how to mount it yet.
If I need light I have a red LED strip and a white LED strip on my hatch both are dimmable. I also use a dimmable LED strip on my awning.
I prefer to operate by moon light as much as possible for less bugs and better night vision but if I need light I have it.

For me there is just something about an old school Coleman lantern. There is nothing better than the "natural" light around a camp of white gas burning in a mantle.
I'm on record here as a Coleman lantern fan (pump pump hiss), but my last trip, I left it at home and went all LED. I'm afraid I won't be going back... So much lighter and smaller, no breakable glass, no mantles, no heat. I'll keep my Coleman lanterns, but I probably won't camp with them anymore (small sigh).

I admit I do enjoy the warm glow of the infamous Coleman white gas lanterns... However, I have recently retired mine for one of the new Biolite Baselantern setups. While not for everyone I'm sure, it works well for my families needs and the features are just amazing. Here's a video if anyone is interested.

Hey SirWilliam - The interior lights are very bright so I use them on 1/2 power and I use nightly. I've never had them run out of power. During the day I just recharge them via the USB charger. The exterior lights are very bright also. I have 2 mounted on my rear tire carrier and I only use those light on 1/2 power which is more than enough and have never had them run out of power. Hope that answer's your question.
Agreed. I much prefer the light from a white gas lantern. They're pretty bullet-proof if you just keep them stowed away properly for transit. I couple mine with a tripod stand and it's worked really well. I do use LED on occasion but I find the light harsh and electronics in general are fussy.
