45 MPH is the max recommended speed on C class 109Q tires (1900pounds 90mph). What speed are you guys running on highways? (At max psi) Never payed attention to manufacturer recommended speed before.

Huh? What tire? I ran BFG KO2's at 85-90mph regularly in a heavier than stock JKU. C load just has a softer side wall but it can not be safely aired down as far as an E wall which is stiff and maintain its seal better at pressures as low as 10-12psi. From Discount Tire -

I think you're looking at speed ratings not load ratings. Any DOT tire will be able to operate at full load at at least 60mph, most are good up to 70 or so. Now if you want perfect tread wear, sure the slower you go the less heat and thus better tread life.

need more info, I get the feeling all is not being presented or it is being misinterpreted, either way I'm to lazy to google it.

Speed ratings are limits for a sustained 24 hour period, not maximum speeds. And if it was installed on your 4x4 with the obvious capability of exceeding 45mph, the tire shop might be liable. The question is incomplete or the header is wrong.

If you provide a link to the chart you are referring to, I'm sure somebody can clarify. Pretty much all passenger vehicle street tires tires can safely exceed 45 mph.

Even these are rated to 45mph.

I can't think of a current "off road" tire that is rated under 98mph max. My tires are rated 98mph and I've ran 90+ for 3-4 hours without stopping, OAT's in the 90F's.no issues, pressures remained constant.

I think most Intercos are only rated for 70 something mph. But those are quite specialized tires that most people don't run.
