Building a 2024 Outback Wilderness

  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Thank you. :relaxed:

I will do that. It is more than likely to be very similar to my Surecall, which would boost a cell signal if the user has a bar or two. If there is no signal, then one is out of luck.

With my Surecall, I had a Zoom meeting with my museum supervisor while in the middle of nowhere for a stage rally. Everything was steady and clear since the little antenna could boost my signal by locating a cell tower. However, when camping in the Cascades, I did not have much of a signal, and my Surecall could not find a cell tower due to the trees. So, my Surecall is not perfect, but when it works, it works great. Regarding the Weboost, I will see how it does when I get out again.

Just an update on the Weboost. It has been great so far. I typically turn it on when I am driving through the Rockies so that I have a decent cell signal. It has helped to keep everything constant. Last weekend, I was volunteering for a Motorsports event near the Utah border (Rangely) and I had zero to low signal without the Weboost. I flipped the switch on to see if I could get a boost. My cell phone's signal went from zero or very low to Roaming, which is not perfect, but much better than what I had. I was able to text, call, and check my emails.

This is what my Wilderness currently looks like.

So in places of low signal, with the weboost, can you get a decent signal to stream tunes? I am very interested in one if that is the case. A lot of our highways are in between towers so the signal is dropping constantly.
If the Weboost can locate a cell tower, it may boost the cell signal enough to stream tunes. However, if it can't, the low signal won't be increased. While I drive into the mountains, the Weboost stays on to keep the signal in a good range in case I have problems.

The Weboost proved to be very handy over the weekend, even at the Overland Expo Mtn West. The cell service was initially a couple of bars during the day when everyone was on cell service, but I flipped it on, and it instantly boosted from 2 bars to 4 bars.

This car was on display the entire weekend at Overland Expo Mtn West in the Subaru booth, which was an absolute honor.

Awesome. Is that a 2026 OBW in the background of the last shot? or a new Fozz W.
Thank you. That is a 2026 Forester Wilderness in the background from my Outback. Subaru has indicated that it will likely introduce the new Outback Wilderness at Overland Expo East, which is scheduled to take place in October.
