Looking at all our built-up rigs it's easy, especially for new folks, to think; I can't afford all of that so I can't do it. We've started a budget build for that very reason.
In episode 1 we do the basics. Cost including the car, mods and camping equipment is around $12,800 to date.

That's a very cool setup. I like the little Zooks. My dad used to have one. I always enjoyed driving that car. Small but very off-road capable and, above all, practical.

I remember that corrosion was always a problem with those. Also because of the road salt here in the area in winterly conditions. But that's probably not a problem in southern Africa.

Haven’t seen issues like that over here but they’re not all manufactured in the same place. Not the most space on the planet but it certainly is budget

Yes, for example the converrtibles and diesel sold here were produced at the Santana factory in Spain if I remember it corectly.
