Boondocking near Gatlinburg, TN

Any free or near free boon docking sites near Gatlinburg, TN? Looking for some place to spend the night before a backpacking trip in the GSMNP. I've check iOverlander and the pickings are slim. Just thought I would ask here.

I've looked for similar info, also unsuccessfully, and determined the best course of action is to scout for spots yourself in Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests.

Cut across Foothills Pkwy to us129 and boondock beside the lake. The national park and surrounding areas are so touristy there aren't a lot of options. Cades cove campground may be open.
