We are doing a spring trip to Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (didn't know we had a national river) in the spring. This trip will involve breaking a few rules by parking the Jeep for three days while we do some "Foot Dependent Travel". It would appear there is some amazing stuff up there that you can only get to on foot. Also can't pass up a chance to hike on the John Muir Trail.

Anyone been there yet?

@RescueRangers I grew up in Tennessee so we spent some time in the BSF. Don't recall much about the offroading there other than there's lots of gravel roads that wind for miles. Beautiful country, you won't be disappointed!

We ran across it while doing a map search. From what I have seen and read so far most everything is accessible only by foot but it looks like a must visit. This will give us a chance to try out some of our new hiking gear as well as some of the new camping stuff. I do have my eye on a few trails for the ride home.
