My wife just told me that Bears Ears will become a National Monument in the (near?) future. I wonder what changes will come with that. @cruiseroutfit have you heard about this?

We found a killer hideout camp spot there in 2015 which left a lasting memory for the whole family, but haven't really explored much of the area, yet. This year I am planning on doing the full Moab to Mexican Hat route with the family after Cruise Moab. I believe this route will have me passing thru Bears Ears again. I'm super excited. Ive been researching and mapping this area for a few years and really want to see some great ruins and rock art.

Absolutely, our local forums (such as ExpeditionUtah.com) have been discussing the proposed monument for months. While we don't know any specifics just yet, we do know motorized travel and routes will be closed and limited. Protection is great, locking out access is not.

I need to head over to Overlandutah.com then. I think I avoid it sometimes cuz I just get super jealous at all the amazing photos of trails and sites. You've done a great job with the site. That is not good news though. I'll go get informed now.

While I got you here, are you gonna lead the Swell run at CM again this year? Ha, thanks man!
