Heading south from calgary we are doing dutch creek first night then was hoping to get some advise on Nelson or castlegar area for a night and then osoyoos general area. Any feedback would be great

We do a 3 day trip from home over into the West Kootenay last year. Spent a night at the forestry campsite at Upper Little Slocan lake in the Slocan Valley and it is amazing and beautiful. You could also take the old gravel Old Cascade Hwy (the original road before Hwy3 was put in) from Rossland to Christina Lake. We also connected another few forestry tracks and made it from Midway to Grand Forks. Lots to see and explore in the area. If you have time poke around Greenwood. Look for the big old smelter stack (you can't miss it) and head up to explore the old ruins.
