Jimmy Schantz, here to talk about batteries. it is a good practice to remove your Batteries from your hand held radios, gps, lights and other equipment when not in used . often batteries will leak or go dead when left for long periods. place them in a sealed container or zip lock bag for safe keeping. label batteries with dates when purchase and check them before you go out and about.

So how is this a review? Maybe post your suggestions in the proper forum
It's to help you when you do go out and Explorer! Most people don't have the luxury of being able to just go on trips all the time . So your equipment usually sets for awhile . Then when you need it ....... Blam the batteries are dead or even worse they have leaked in the unit and damaged it....

Sorry man,
didn't mean to hurt your sensitivities.....
Maybe I am wrong but I read the gear reviews to, well.....see gear reviewed. Not for general statement of use or care. This forum is getting loaded down with everything but gear reviews.
When I saw the Batteries topic I was looking for a battery Review........Whats Good, Whats Bad....Not a suggested care of.....
Just my .02
Forget I said anything and enjoy all the NOT Gear Reviews....
