As my main battery was giving me warning signs that it was on it's way out i replaced it with a slightly bigger new battery.
I was after 12v power whilst camping to run LED lighting ,charge phones , etc...without running the risk of draining too much and have start up issues.
The second battery will be fitted in the rear cargo area, on a battery tray and wired to 2 x 12v sockets which should be plenty.

I apologize if I'm ignorant, but is it safe to have a battery venting into the passenger space? I was under the impression they should be somewhere with a good bit of ventilation.

I believe there are gasses to consider...(even though it is a sealed maintenance free battery)....but the battery will not live under the tray full time, it will be charged prior to a camping trip and used whilst the vehiche is stationary, windows slightly opened...it is a small 60 amp unit only...keep you posted
