So I was sitting around watching the old cartoon Balto with my boys and it had me thinking about overlanding thru Alaska. So opened up google.maps pulled up the ol'satalite image and started browsing around the sparse landscape and admiring the openness and endless area. Cruising up north took me from Nome to Barrow the northen most settlement on the map. There are no actual roads that lead here which begged the question. How would one make that trip what sort of provisions would you consider. What would be your choice vehicle. Time of year for travel, I have heard conversation range from winter to take advantage of permafrost and frozen landscape and to avoid the swamp areas. Anyway just open discussion curious to hear insights ideas different point of views.
