I just finished a trip from ID to Northern MN to retrieve my Mom from one of her cabins. While I spent several days exploring MT backroads, I'll save that for another thread. The Echo trail in St. Louis County connects two of our cabins from Orr to Ely, MN, and provides multiple access points for portaging, boating, hiking and winter activities. It's mostly dirt after Buyck, but easily driveable by most vehicles, some spurs require high clearance, but nothing technical. Here's a few pics along the trail, I wish I could've gone when the leaves were in full color. I also added in a few trails on our property.IMG_20170825_102016067.jpg IMG_20170825_102717553.jpg IMG_20170825_114422600.jpg IMG_20170825_121221569.jpg IMG_20170825_184312229.jpg IMG_20170825_184407221.jpg IMG_20170825_184557849.jpg

Great pics @britz! That's my home country, grew up in Hibbing, MN several years ago. Used to go up through Ely to Voyageurs and the BWCA often. I now live in Illinois amidst a sea of corn and fairly flat terrain. These pics bring back a lot of memories.

Nice! I grew up on Ely Lake between Eveleth and Gilbert, but still go back twice a year since one parental unit lives there and the other splits time from her ID cabin next door and the MN cabins. Now i'm planning different routes around the Northland since my Mom won't fly.
