I have a Colorado with a camper top over the bed with two Yakima cross bars. I also have a 270 awning to mount on the Yakima bars, but based on the dynamic weight rating of the bars and the weight of the awning, I'm considering adding a third bar. My instinct is to add a third bar on the camper top as opposed to the truck cab, which would basically mean the awning is mounted to the truck cab and camper top, which sounds like a bad idea. Looking for confirmation of my instinct or any other thoughts. Thanks.
