Hi all! My question is pretty much the thread's subject. I am looking to buy a Dometic CF-25 for my Subaru Ascent. Do they ever run sales? Does anyone have experience buying used or refurbished from them or their distributors?

Sadly, I think I am stuck buying a Dometic, because, my overland build design depends on me using the space between my 2nd row captain's chairs, which is about 11". Dometic is the only company I've found that makes a 22+ quart compressor based freezer/fridge combo that's that narrow (10.24").

BUT... if anyone is aware of any other brand that meets those criteria (11" or less width, 45ish watts, freezer/fridge, compressor based), I'm all ears. Comparably sized (22-26 quart) ones from other brands are a third of the price - I just can't find any that fit.

Thanks!

I had a CF-25 for about 7 years. I loved it. You can check Ebay for refurnished or used units.

Awesome, thanks @mep1811! That also answers my other concern, which was long term reliability. Do you leave yours powered 24/7/365? Anything special you did to not kill the car battery? I ripped out my stock battery and replaced with a Northstar NSB AGM-24F, which I am hoping mitigates discharge issues for the car sitting for a few days. Any thoughts?

I only ran mine when on a trip. I had a dual battery system so I was not worried about running the battery running down. The fridge also has a low voltage cut off as not to kill the battery.
