ARB Mounting Under Roof Rails

I drive a Jeep Renegade, whose roof rails are only rated up to 150 pounds. Would it be feasible to attach L-brackets to the roof, under the side rails, in order to avoid chipping away at that roof weight limit?

Are you running stock rails? Or aftermaket? Typically a good Thule/rhino rack system will have a higher load limit
