Anyone know any good spots or trails in Southern West Virginia?

My wife and I are planning a trip for the weekend of 6/22-6/24 and are thinking about heading out to Pocahontas County or somewhere similar in West Virginia. We are located in Winterville, NC and really just looking for a good area within a 7-8 hour drive.

If you know of anything I would appreciate the information.
