With the extra time on my hands (Rona Time) I have committed to getting more involved in the community!

Here is my 2002 Sequoia. I am building it on a budget...aren't we all!

So far I have done all the heavy maintenance a 250k SUV should get. Did some sliders, custom winch mount and roof rack. I will organize each project and update the thread as I go. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and girls more!

When I first got her home...Sitting on the wrong size tires, Tbelt that had to have 150k on it, frame rotted to hell in a few spots. View attachment 147028

Got the TBelt. water pump, idler, valve cover gaskets tackled first, then did some repair on the rotten portions of the frame and a rear wheel bearing (that was a giant pain in the ass) Did diff fluids and oil at the same time.

Found a set of used Fj wheels and tires on the cheap, as well as a matching rear seat from the junk yard.

I ordered a Rancho Quick Lift (adjustable dampening) for the front and new struts and springs for the rear. I used a poly spacer to level the rear end out.
The suspension was so shot, this made a world of difference.

Finally took a piece of ABS and some 1/4 turn dzus fasteners for a cover to keep the winch relatively dry and clean when not in use.

What a great piece of work. Total weight probably under 100lbs? Keeping the stock setup really appeals to me as I don’t see rock crawling in my future but like the security of a winch. Nicely done!

Thanks very much. I am just under 100#. 65 for the winch and 30 for the mount. I didn't feel the difference at all adding it.
I just didnt want to go full bumper yet. Weight, and as you mentioned...my intention isnt to rock crawl so the protection isnt a huge issue (as of now).

Welded. I am going back to add some bracing..i had a nasty hit a few weeks ago and tweaked one.

That's a great looking bumper/winch mount. Thanks for sharing. I might give this a go rather than welding up an entire steel bumper.

Thanks a lot I'm really happy with the setup so far. I made the spacers, made a mold ans cast my own, since i had the poly mix from some motor mounts. The springs are stock replacements. I was worried about final ride height from front to back (seemed every review on my front set up said a different lift) so i opted for a shorter spring and the abiltiy to control the height with the spacer.

A few weekends ago I tackled my roof rack.
I had these two heavy duty dollies that I got from the scrap yard for a good price....2 years ago!
Finally found a use for them. I am guilty of collecting things I think might be useful down the road.

I considered it, but I wanted to keep it as low profile as possible. The factory rack would work well with a basket on top..just decided to do a full rack since I had the material, and option to make it exactly as I wanted it.
