two things I don't think have been mentioned, animals will be effected by the change as well, so if you are bringing a furry friend with you make sure they are keeping hydrates as well, and frequent bathroom breaks for them. my dog would get very bad diarrhea for a few days going through elevation changes.
the other thing. Coming down from elevation can effect you as well. I am good going up in elevation, doesnt effect me much, coming back down will mess me up for a few days. So make sure even when you go back to sea level you remain to hydrate and do all the things.
