Hey y'all! #OB14045 here. We travel full-time and will be in the following areas:

Aug. 11-24: Theodore Roosevelt NP in Medora, ND
Aug. 25-Sept. 14: Rapid City, SD
Sept. 15-21: Western Nebraska
Sept. 22-Oct. 6: Golden, CO
Oct. 7-19: Denver, CO

We were hoping for any tips, important finds, must-see places, must eat, off-grid camping locations you've found, overlanding shops we should check out etc.

Any tips are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well, you've got Nebraska National Forest in Chadron, Carhenge(http://carhenge.com/ ) in Alliance should be a must do, then you can head east out of Alliance to Halsey National Forest. Theres also Fort Robinson which is west of Chadron by Crawford, Ne. Then you could head down to Kearney, Ne and check the Archway that goes over the interstate https://archway.org/

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.

Almost forgot about Happy Jack Chalk mine. https://visitnebraska.com/see_and_dos/happy-jack-peak-and-chalk-mine
Wow this is great Jonathan. Exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. I see you are a fellow Jeep owner. My Jeep is a JKU Rubicon Unlimited on a 2.5" Rock Krawler lift with 35 series tires. I see your lift is a little bigger than mine. Any of these areas that you suggested areas where my set up might need a little more umpf? If so let me know. Thanks brother!

Second Nebraska national forest. Its the largest man made forest in the world. Really different from surrounding sandhills. There a dinosaur dig near there also. Custer state park is a must see.

Thanks KDJ! We plan on spending a week at Custer! Didn't know about the man made forest though. We'll do some exploration if we can! Appreciate the tips for Nebraska!

Thanks for all the tips Boort so do you hire yourself out as a tour guide? LOL

You've got this down! Appreciate all the links and we'll be referring to this post when we get into those areas. We're actually staying in Golden when we go to Colorado, so great tips there.

Have you eaten at Woody's Pizza in Golden? Good stuff!

Appreciate you,

You're welcome, Glad to point out fun things to do around the state. I have not been to that Woodys but when I worked in Westminster years ago we used to get lunch at one around 80th and Sheridan. That location is Closed now, or so I hear.

If you're staying in Golden I'll toss out a few more ideas:
  • New Terrain bike Shop and Tap Room http://newterrainbrewing.com/taproom/ - Learned about this place from others here when we did a meet up there last year. Awesome food trucks and enjoyed a wicked flight of their brews.
  • I'm told that if sipping Coffee and relaxing is your thing check out Higher Grounds near the campus. http://highergroundsgolden.com/ I can't speak for the coffee (prefer Tea, myself and that was really good for a coffee joint :D ) but the atmosphere was great for sitting around and talking photography last time I met some friends there.
  • Like Knives? Spyderco HQ is a block or 2 south of Slee on Hwy 93 Often good deals to be had in the factory store.
  • Bob's Atomic is THE place in golden for Burgers and Shakes http://www.bobsatomicburgers.com/

And since I got home I was able to look up the good place in Ogalalla Neb. Open Range Grill another place for a GREAT burger and Beer.
