Ok, I been going down the list or repairs. Got the transmission fixed, new few pump, new Flow master muffler, and some other stuff. I added some lights to the back bumper of the truck for backing and setting up camp in the dark. A better place would be on a roof rack but I don't have one.View attachment 136591
I also added ditch lights. I used aluminum for the bracket, easier to bend, to get the angles right then redue in steel. They don't make bracket for my truck.View attachment 136592
Went this last weekend to a local place for a campfire and coffee.View attachment 136593
Inthewoods I go.

Ok the Ram is fixed and I'm out with OB on the Mojave Road clean up. I just set up camp and it's raining lightly with a nice warm temperature. I should be a big turn out and if ever get a chance to run with a group from OB, do it. They are a great group of people.View attachment 144230

Ok, I made it through the Mojave Road this weekend and it was great. met other members, site seeing, camping, the water crossing was fun. The get together around the fire with others and got some information from the activing park director.

Learned something about that tree. Stay up on OB for that.
View attachment 144584
I won a Bennie and patch from the raffle at the camp fire.
View attachment 144585
The under the tracks photos were cool. This just before the water crossing.
Folks, it was fun to get out with others and help clean our parks so our kids can enjoy it one day. I hope to these guys again soon.
Thanks Kent, Bob and Tom for guiding us through the desert.

When they lift the "shelter-in-place" on the 1st, watch out because I will be making a straight line to the woods. I am planning a trip for May 22-25, maybe to Monache Meadows if open. Some place far so I still have my 6 foot space. They normally open up that weekend. I will call the Forrest station again next week to see if it will be opening. Mean while I will be getting my rig ready. Can't wait.

My new cooking arrangement with the Decked system. No more totes and extra tables. Just drop the tailgate and cook. One side has my cooking supplies and the other side has my camping gear. I have a video of it on my YouTube channel.

Just got back from another OB Mojave Road clean up and again it was great. Met more friends and made new ones and got more ideas for the rig. Posted on YouTube my simple awning set for under $100.

From the desert to winter camping on January 29. Met some new friends and seen some new locations. It got just a little cold, down to 28 degrees and I had ice on the INSIDE of my windows of my snug top camper. Then coffee happened and everything was fine. I have added some extras to the Dodge. I added the Viair twin compressor and tank. I can now run some air tools and it cut my air up time on tires from one hour to just 15 minutes and I'm rolling. Next I changed the ring and pinion gears in the Dodge. I went from a 4:11 with limited slip to 4:88s with a Detroit locker in the rear.

Took a trip to Klamath falls OR and did some camping on the side of MT Shasta.
It was windy but the view was nice.View attachment 203710
We pulled up a chair and waited for Bigfoot to cross. Nothing yet.
View attachment 203707
That's Mt Shasta with the tip in the clouds. The next day the clouds cleared up for a few hours.

I stopped in Weed CA. That's right, Weed, Ca. Topped off the tank headed to Klamath falls OR. That's Mt Shasta behind the building that I camped at on the way back home. Got some rain but it felt good.

If you use your rig then you know that things wear out, wear out early or just break. Well my Dodge is used a lot, so I just got my truck back from the shop.
I had a fuel leak, power steering gear box dump all it's fluid all on the same day and when I put it in the shop, they found a water pump going out. All fixed. Regular maintenance and even quick checks of parts, fluid when at home is great. This could've sucked bad if all this went out on a desert run. Friendly reminder, check your rig to minimize break down on the trail.
I am heading to Expo West in Flagstaff and hope to see you there.

There are two things that make a man tear up.
1. going camping and forgetting the bacon.
2. seeing your baby breaking down.
