Hey everyone,

I recently ordered a Rigd spare tire carrier for my Silverado. I would like to bring my traction boards, axe, and shovel down off my roof rack and put them on the spare, since it can hold the weight and I'd like to put some other stuff up there while keeping the weight on the roof as low as possible.

I'm looking at Rock Slide Engineering's EZ Rack (basically a ratchet strap with two steel plates). I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with these or some other similar system. Also, does anyone have suggestions for mounts that can hold an axe and shovel on one side and the boards on the other? I have MAXSA boards, which are cheaper than the MAXTRAX but don't stack as tight. I'm currently using QuickFist clamps for the tools, which work fine, so I imagine there's an easy enough way to mount them to the EZ Rack. Not so sure about what to use to hold the boards vertically though.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Happy overlanding!
