The intent of my 4Runner's evolution into what it is today was quite simple in concept, but proved to be rather difficult in practice. I wanted a vehicle that I could COMFORTABLY drive 365 days a year, and take me anywhere I wanted to (or had to) go. I am quite happy with it's current form and have no intention of adding any additional modifications at this time. However, in a fit of rage I did tear out my CB radio. I should probably address communications before long.

This is the only picture I have of it the day after I purchased it. Christmas Day 2010. Note the tacky stickers, running boards, and CHROME Tundra wheels. Other than that it had the Supra Injectors, a Split Second ESC1, Split Second ARM1, and APEXi SAFC

Though my 4Runner's main use is my daily driver, it's also our recreational vehicle. Whether we're camping with friends, or just out exploring the beautiful PNW I expect my 4Runner to transport my wife , my dogs, and myself both safely and comfortably. Whether it be at the end of a 4x4 trail, or 1000 mile road trip, I want my 4Runner to be capable of getting us there and back.

After this post I think you guys will understand that I like to camp, and I like to take pictures.

Great 4Runner! Makes me miss my '96. I'm in Lacey and it looks like we frequent a lot of the same trails/areas.

used to fish fro salmon I think its the green river there in federal way
 
Haven't posted here in awhile....
After replacing my heads (driver side had a crack, so I replaced them both) I took a trip east with a couple buddies. Over to Montana, down to Wyoming, and back home. Had a great time!

Met up at Mule Expedition Outfitters to buy a couple last minute things for the trip:

And a story of recovery...

Onward we pushed until the BigBluePlow was unable to continue forward progress on a little hill. It was getting late, and we decided it was best to try and turn around.

First up was BigBluePile. He charged into the 3' of snow off the side of the road and got stuck.

We had the other 3rd gen drive up the road a bit so I could pull up past the 1st gen and back down into the 3' of snow, then winch myself back onto the road, but pointing down hill.

Well, that was the plan.

I back into the bank, tried to use my recovery boards to no avail, and was here... (Thanks for posing, Logan!)

On to the winching plan! Should be easy! Instead my winch decided I didn't need to go forward. Rather, I needed to slide sideways down to where I was just a couple feet from the 1st gen.

So we were here. (some phone pictures incoming)

Not wanting to continue sliding down into the 1st gen we anchored my 4Runner to the other 3rd gen with a strap, got out a snatch block and I pulled the 1st gen out of the bank and back onto the road.

This went swimmingly, and pretty quickly (hence the lack of photos).

Pulled Logan out onto the road. With him out of the way took off the anchor strap and pulled myself out onto the road, then had Jesse (in the other 3rd gen) back into the bank where we had laid the recovery boards down (lesson learned), and he just pulled right back out onto the road.

And we all went home.
