The 4runner I was building was traded today for this. The trans is bad so obviously that will be the first objective. I tried the Toyota thing but I just really prefer full size vehicles. Lots of plans already. I will say the thing drives good even with only having 1st and 3rd gears. Plus I can sleep in the back :)

Before building this up I decided to take it out to the Daniel Boone national forest to see what it could do in stock form. Turns out 35s would be ideal. I did an easier trail. I'll show some pics of how I had it laid out tomorrow. I will say the antenna on the front guard is the way to go. One thing I'll do sooner than later is redoing to console. We had stuff flying off there all day.

Something to think about is what lift. Frame clearance wasnt an issue but axle from ground was. I seriously considering a body lift. I have been daily driving this and I like the idea of maintaining stock parts and stock geometry.

If you put a drop bracket lift kit on you can maintain stock cv angles and keep the ride stock smooth , mine had a 6 inch kit but I turned the torsion down and got it to more like 5" and it cleared 35s with no rubbing even with wheels with less offset to keep it in almost inside the fenders .

it did have a small amount of rub on the back fenders under full stuff but that can be fixed with bumpstops

The only thing that's going to give you more axle clearance is more Tire, one problem with going with more tire is more strain on the drivetrain

This is true. I also suspect I would need to regear if I goto 35s. I dont have many rpms and I'm just running 245s.

I wish I had the tools to make a bumper and a place to do it lol. I worked at a shop one time and I could use it after hours. Built lots of good stuff back then. While I've been thinking about what tires I want to go with I've been playing around with where to mount things. I dont think I'll be able to make the console look good enough for my taste but I'll give it a try.

Yeah that console piece looks like a little too much. Bigger is not always better.

well thanks but it is actually real simple to make you just need a chunk of steel , a angle grinder , some measuring tools and some patience.
