Contributor I
So I’ve wanted an awning but after looking at prices I couldn’t justify a little shade and cover for 2-3 bills sooo I went the DIY route.
Total cost in material was about $80
With the most expensive things being the Lewis N Clark Nylon tarp from cabelas at 35$ and the adjustable polls off amazon for $12 a piece
Used 1/2 inch electric conduit for the skeleton.
And 3” PVC for the shell with caps on either end.
Bolted a pair of eye bolts on either end to secure the tarp to the rig cutting the eye to make a hook.
Secured to my stock roof rack by some 4” hose clamps.
Then it was just a matter of drilling holes and putting poles.
Also used a cap with bolt to turn the 1/2” EC into a stake.
If you have any questions or would like further details feel free to reach out.
