Hello everyone,

Not sure if I’m posting this in the right place. I’m new here and just went on my first overlanding trip... if you can call driving a stock GMC pickup and camping in designated camping areas overlanding lol. This was inspired by listening to the Overland Bound podcast and watching the YouTube channel.

On day 1 I drove from my home in Sylvan Lake, Alberta down to the Crowsnest Pass in the south west corner of the province. The first night I stayed at the Racehorse provincial recreation area on the Forestry Trunk Road.

On Day 2 I went up the Allison Creek Road and went up the Window Mountain Lake trail as far as I could by truck and then hiked the rest of the way in to the lake. I then went further north on the Allison Creek road and went up the Racehorse Pass trail which is shown on the Overland Bound app. I then took the Dutch Creek road to get back to the Forestry Trunk road and headed north, spending the night at Livingstone Falls provincial recreation area.

On day 3 I continued north on the trunk road and up through Kananaskis country on Highway 40. After a brief detour to Canmore for lunch, I took highway 1A and part of the forestry trunk road again and made my way home.

Ended up doing 1100 kilometres over the three days. I shot a video about the trip but my camera work and editing need improvement lol, the road clips are a little long and the go pro was shaky on the roof of my truck. You can see the video here if I’m allowed to post links:
A few pics are also attached.
