Just purchased this beast and I'm ready to get into overlanding! I have a few mods and upgrades planned for this year and I'll be using this thread to keep track of them.
2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Build

First mod: removed the running boards! Each running board was bolted on with six 12mm bolts. I shoved a few pillows and blankets under the running board while unscrewing it so that it didn't fall off and knock me unconscious after it came loose. Each running board weighs 26 lbs, for a total of 52 lbs. I screwed the bolts back in after taking the boards off. I took my time and finished in about 45 minutes. I haven't done any mechanical work before so after completing this I feel like a master mechanic!
I removed the two third row seats along with the plastic storage tray that was behind the third row and the rear gate. The larger seat weighs about 60 lbs. and the smaller one weighs about 40 lbs, for a total of 100 extra lbs. of payload allowance! Overall it was pretty easy, just 15 bolts or so and some electrical cables. The second row seats are next! Then I'll build a platform and shelving for storage and also for sleeping. I'll also put down some sound proofing material to keep the road noise down.
Removing the third row seats increased the road noise inside so I installed some KILMAT sound deadening mats and wow... this stuff really works! So far I only did the parts that had the metal fully exposed but the difference is already noticeable. I plan to remove the second row seats soon and add some underdeath there also. Who knows, I may just wind up doing the entire vehicle at this point!

Nice rig! Out of curiosity why did you buy a sequoia if you are planning to remove all the seats?
Thanks! I plan on building drawers and a platform for sleeping on. The Sequoia is plenty capable offroad with 10" ground clearnce, V8, center locker, 4WD, and has a large enough payload for all of my stuff and also enough room inside for me to sleep in.
Oh also I am 6'3" so I don't fit in some other vehicles like the Tacoma, 4Runner, etc. Plus, even if I did, I'd still want a Sequoia since it has even more space.
Had some Nitto Ridge Grapplers put on! They came right to my place and did the job on-site!

I have a second gen and have recently been looking into mods. Found out the front is basically a Tacoma so any Tacoma bolt on product will also fit (with minor alterations occasionally) directly to the sequoia. I’ve been looking at putting the Tacoma trd grill on mine as it gives it a more aggressive front look. I found a couple of forums that show it being pretty easy.
We're cousins......I've got a Tundra. Look forward to following your build. I'm about to post the start of mine.

They are just fine on the hwy. I may be jaded though since I’ve used these tires on my Taco and Tundra over past 8 years. Even use 10 ply Kanati tires on my Can-Am. They are great for durability.

I can confirm that an E rated M/T isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. My 33" Falken M/Ts are only a bit louder than an aggressive A/T. If you don't mind that slight bump in noise they are great! I have to swap back to A/Ts though. The wifey can't handle the tire wine on the highway. I likely will go to Toyo A/T or BFG KO2 E rated 34"
