What are some of yalls destinations for the coming year? I tend to stick to shorter trips myself, so I'm trying to push myself to get out for something longer, so I'll share some of my goals and places I want to go this year!... Sometimes its kind of hard to get my partner and the kiddo out for off the grid adventures as my wife has to i have some net access for work, and well, kiddo has school.

Some of trip goals for this year:
- Week+ trip to Zion, Canyon Lands and maybe hit Mojave on the way back
- At least one Mojave road trip to do a shakedown run on the wifes 2wd truck
- Death Valley again!
- Figuring out a route from bass lake to up tahoe
- more weekend trips to the Shaver Lake area to go wheeling and camping. I'd love to do the Dusy Ershim trail out that way.
- Rubicon!
- more trails around Tahoe!
- hit as many National Parks as I can along the way!

So what say you? what are some of your goals?

Very cool! We have some property up near Yosemite and near the Stanislaus NF, there are a ton of cool places to explore around that area. I can only imagine how it is up there!

Family trips were roughly planned last night and consist of 4x4 and MTB trail runs.

1. Utah - Colorado Exploration
2. Overland Expo 2020 in Flagstaff
3. Whistler B.C. riding and exploring

Solo trips haven't been planned yet. :)

Doing some exploring in the USVI/Caribbean in February, circumnavigating Iceland in May, hitting the Outer Banks of NC in June or July and then doing the Trans-Taiga run (the most remote location in Northern America accessible by road) in October.

My wife and I are both retiring in the next month so we are hoping to really ramp up our travel. Our first goal is to attend Overland Expo West in Flagstaff. Following that we want to explore ghost towns of Montana as well as explore the Four Corners area. There is so much to see there. Some of the initial trips will be to figure out equipment as well as our pace of exploring.

Wife and I are going on separate vacations this year. She is going with friends to Machu Picchu in June. I'm taking my co-pilot to do NM/CO/WY/MT for 3 weeks. Goal is to hit as many 12,000' or higher passes. Some I can drive. Some I can drive and short hike, Some I can drive and long hike. I work from home, so as long as I have an internet connection once a week I am good. A mix of primitive and AirBnB/hotel. My co-pilot is rather large, so no rig camping this trip. My co-pilot is a terrible map reader, but an awesome guy to talk to. He listens really well.

Aug 21/22 Albuquerque (I can make it to Ouray in 1 day, but I've got time)

Aug 22/26 Ouray
Yankee Boy/Imogene Pass - 13,117'
California Pass - 12,960'
Engineer Pass - 12,800'
Cinnamon Pass - 12,640'
Ophir Pass - 11,789'

From Ouray N towards I-70
Montrose Hwy 50 EB to Hwy 347 NB to South Entrance Gunnison to Jones Mountain Summit - 12,683'
Gunnison Point Hwy 347 WB to Hwy 50 WB to Delta Hwy 65 NB to Grand Mesa Summit - 11,332'
Grand Mesa Byway Grand Mesa 10,000', WB to Overlook Observatory at Grand Junction - 6,150'

August 26/27 Parachute on I-70
I-70 at Indian Springs - Mount Evans Scenic Byway - 14,130'

Aug 27/30 Loveland for Overland Expo Mountain West
Fall River Pass 11,796'
Webster Pass - 12,140'

Aug 30/Sept 2 Yellowstone NP
Beartooth Pass 10.989'

Sept 2/4 Decompress in Bozeman
Great spots to eat like Storm Castle Cafe
Mostly chill and the only elevation I want is about 3'... into a comfy bed.

Sept 4/5 Denver
Stop by Northridge4x4 for some goodies and maintenance

Sept 5 Home

My co-pilot Maximus. 172lbs of happy fella.

Hoping to get out on a northern Ontario roadtrip. Maybe hit Grundy, Killarney, Agawa canyon, lake Superior, and Sleeping Giant provincial parks. still in planning and may add a few, but I also have newborn that will come with me but will likely be nearly a year old by then because we will likely do the trip in the fall.

.

Heading out from the Maine coast within 4-6 weeks, looks like, to go:
- down the Appalachians and
- the eastern Ohio River valley, then likely
- straight south through Kentucky and Tennessee and
- either GA, AL, or MS 'til I get south of I-10

Then I'll further explore:
- Cajun country and the
- Gulf of Mexico and, hopefully
- some bird and wildlife sanctuaries, then
- wander up the border close as I can from
- the Gulf all the way to El Paso.

Have some mural work to do in far west Texas, then will do more night sky shooting, and then may explore up the Rio Grande from the Trans Pecos into New Mexico and southern Colorado.

All dependent on weather and storm patterns. I have a few other spots I'd like to explore, too.

Last long adventure I did like this, I left mid Oct 2018 and didn't get back 'til mid June 2019. 34 weeks. Then went lake camping around New England from July - Nov.

Been in a house since then and am itchy AF to get back out there. These last ten weeks in one place is just about killing me.
