2020 Subaru Outback Onyx XT Overland Build

Yeah I’m told(I haven’t experienced) that a 245/65R17 fits in the space where the stock full size spare would go. I still have my stock 18 full size spare but was going to purchase a full size spare in the next couple days

I’ve heard rumors that it’ll fit aired down but was curious since I didn’t see a spare on the roof. The other reason being that there’s room for a lot of gear under the floor if you put the spare elsewhere.

Lol yeah. I also have a drawer system in the trunk that I bought from the guy who built it for an absolute steal, so keeping it in there wouldn’t be the best thing, but I am still figuring out what I want my set up to be

Looking for ways to maximize the space in my Outback. I already have a drawer system. Any one have some better suggestions? I am weekend Overlander at best lol. Just looking for some better ways to maximize storage

Recent expedition to Nimblewill Gap and Old Bucktown Rd!

The Dadwagon has been out just about every weekend since the beginning of the year. Found lots of snow, hosted a relatively large get together, and found more reasons for a lift!

Camping! FYI, if you use a Luno Life Air Mattress, there is not room if you also have a drawer/platform system. I tried it but I did not have a lot of room up top lol. Chalk that one up to disadvantages to rocking a Wagon-SUV. Next I will try using the air mattress un-inflated as a cushion along with a couple of sleeping bags for warmth!

Ordered my Flatout Suspension coilover lift at the beginning of the month through Currahee Overland. Looking forward to getting that installed along with my Prinsu Rack! In the meantime, here’s some adventures with Ozzie the AdventureDadWagon!

Next up is the Prinsu Rack! I held off for a little while I anticipated the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition, which is the most capable Outback to date. It came out today, and it’s great! Just not enough to make me trade in my 2020.

Next, I’m gonna need some better approach and departure angles, and it doesn’t have an OTS solution as of right now now. Suggestions??

Update on the build:
The only thing that has been done to the rig itself of late is that the coil overs were incorrectly built and installed by the original off road shop I chose. I took it to a Subaru specialist shop in Alpharetta and they were able to reassemble the coil overs and set them so that the dramatic squeaking and general noise that was present wasn’t there. We added the Rallitek Subframe Drop Spacer Kit to boot to realign the back wheels and suspension.

After finally receiving the missing hardware from my Prinsu Rack, it is scheduled to be installed next Thursday! (Finally!!! Also purchased some Bright Source Titanium series Ditch Lights, Bracket, and an Auxbeam Light Controller. Planning on adding a Baja Designs Light Pod Bar to the Prinsu, along with a custom front aluminum bumper with removable winch!

Also, the drawer system I have been running for about a year is going to be ditched for a couple of Front Runner boxes combined with a little bit of the Milwuakee Packout Organization System. The setup is too much for the Outback and I will instead be adding it to my future 4X4

At long last, my Prinsu Rack is on! Thanks to Allpro Subaru in Atlanta for doing a stellar install, despite a pesky A pillar that decided it didn’t want to stay put once it had been uninstalled once

Got my Quick Release Awning Bracket on my Prinsu Rack, and I’ve gotta say it is not as easy as I was thinking it was going to be! Nevertheless, it’s on!

Next project is to get my ROAM Adventure 83L Box bolted onto the RACK, and add some lights to the rig!

Next major mods will be a custom front bumper, trailer hitch, and a Dirt Complex trail swing
