My wife had a 2005 Lexus and talked over the last few years about replacing it. As we talked about with what to replace it, she was thinking about Jeep Grand Cherokee. Even as a Jeep (Wrangler) owner, I wasn’t thrilled with her pick and suggested a few other options. I wanted something 4WD and off-road capable to supplement my 04 Jeep Rubicon. One suggestion was a 4Runner, but she was not a fan of the front end.
Although mechanically sound, the Lexus recently went over 290k miles (mostly highway between LA and Vegas) and she decided it was time. Again, the Grand Cherokee came up in conversation until a coworker of hers suggested a 4Runner. That’s when she warmed up to the idea. A friend of a friend works at a local Toyota dealership and they just received this 2016 4Runner Trail Premium as a trade in.

We went to the dealership that day for a test drive before the vehicle has even been cleaned or prepped. It was everything I would’ve wanted in a 4Runner and my wife loved it. The only thing I am not “thrilled” with are the 20” wheels.. I’d prefer 17” but that is easily fixed in time. So we bought it.
